Ideas For My 60s Fashion Shoot :)

So we have been given a brief and it has three options: fashion or editorial piece for a contemporary magazine, advertising campaign for a famous brand or a piece for a travel magazine.
Typically I went for the fashion piece for the magazine. My ideas for this are to follow the style and fashion of the 60's, and for this I want to do most of the images in black and white with maybe some in colour to show the hippy side of the era.

The black and white images will be shot in a studio, for which I am going to research the lighting they used then, and I want to make the images iconic for the time. For the coloured images I was thinking of having brightly coloured backdrops that are patterned similar to the patterns of the 60's and have headshots taken against them to show the make-up and hairstyles of the time clearly.

For my research I am hoping to aquire some magazines from the 60's to give me a clear insight of what the shoots and spreads for the time were like. For the actual photographs I want some vintage 60's clothing, although I know this may be hard to get hold of.

There will be many updates on this project, aswell as another project I am doing.

Loves,

  1. Great ideas! Personally I would go down the editorial route but it'll be great to see what you come up with.

  2. Well I thought about that but I'm really into my fashion photography and hope to get into that industry when I graduate.
