You May Think That I Have Disappeared But I Have Not...

Hey guys, sorry haven't been blogging for a while. I have been really ill and too busy with general life and college and DIY (don't ask lol).

The 60's shoot is coming on, I have 3 ideas for my shoots and will be posting what these are when I have done sample shoots for them. This will be done over the next week hopefully if people don't let me down!!

Keep checking because I will be posting soon :)

&& I Am Still On The 60's...

I have found some clothes although not many. Have seen two great pieces in Topshop but they were both around £50 each!! May be slightly expensive and extreme but I may try and persuade the mother to buy them for me...it is for my course not myself lol

Also on the trip into Topshop saw a great dress for myself, very short and cute. Ideal. Again very expensive for a dress I may only wear a few times....Life is soooo unfair...

Back to my work, now I need to research the hair and make-up of the time. Fun Fun Fun

Ebaying It...

I went onto ebay yesterday and found that vintage 60's fashion magazines are expensive :( , from around £35 to £65!! This is bad times. Really need to start to find other ways of finding these magazines without having to copy and paste anything from google, as I would love to have the real thing to keep :).

If anyone knows a way of getting any at a resonable price as I am desperate and have been searching for hours...

My next task is 60's clothing....Wish me luck.

Ideas For My 60s Fashion Shoot :)

So we have been given a brief and it has three options: fashion or editorial piece for a contemporary magazine, advertising campaign for a famous brand or a piece for a travel magazine.
Typically I went for the fashion piece for the magazine. My ideas for this are to follow the style and fashion of the 60's, and for this I want to do most of the images in black and white with maybe some in colour to show the hippy side of the era.

The black and white images will be shot in a studio, for which I am going to research the lighting they used then, and I want to make the images iconic for the time. For the coloured images I was thinking of having brightly coloured backdrops that are patterned similar to the patterns of the 60's and have headshots taken against them to show the make-up and hairstyles of the time clearly.

For my research I am hoping to aquire some magazines from the 60's to give me a clear insight of what the shoots and spreads for the time were like. For the actual photographs I want some vintage 60's clothing, although I know this may be hard to get hold of.

There will be many updates on this project, aswell as another project I am doing.

Portraiture Work Cont..

So I did my presentation at college showing the two images I did for this self portraiture project (see previous post for images) and I got the feeling that everyone wasn't impressed :(

Does anyone see any problems with my images as this has really got to me...although it shouldn't because ultimately it's my work and aslong as I like it does it really matter?

Portraiture Work

At So we were set a portraiture project with the second years from our course and had to produce two images. One that showed how we viewed ourselves, the other how other people view me. So I chose bubbly for how I am viewed by other people and colourful for how I view myself.

Here are the 2 images I finally chose as my finals :

As I had problems doing my second image the way I wanted, which was a red carpet with paparrazi, I chose an image I had done 2 years before and edited it to be more colourful.

Past Work

I really love taking images of anything, and these images are experimental images I did about 3 years ago. I edited them using Photoshop and loved the effect I got.

I would like to do more images like this, photographing inanimate objects and turning them into something interesting to look at.
